Here you’ll find my ever-expanding list of useful tutorials, videos as well as helpful YouTube channels. Some of these I hold dear to my heart and have started me on paths strange and winding. I owe most of my experience and crafting knowledge to these creators. In no particular order:
I blame this super awesome dude for my addiction to making things out of XPS foam. Most of the tips and tricks having to do with building fantasy structures I’ve learned here. Most importantly he motivates anyone to just grab some materials and try making *something*.
A plethora of crafting knowledge hosted by the host with the least amount of microwaves. From silver welding to silicone casting, bootleg action figures to sound effects Crafsman has it all. My take away: Keep on steady crafting.
Fantastic fun can be had at Goobertown, painting challenges, painting tips, experiments, as well as explanations about how glue and paint works at the molecular level. Fascinating to watch and a great host!
Another channel to blame for my head-first dive into the world of EPS foam cosplay. An absolute treasure trove of information with fantastic hosts. Don’t sell them short however, they have books and guides available to purchase which I highly recommend.
Corgis. Can you ask any more from a cosplay channel? Well good because you have it, Kaumi and company are not only fantastic cosplayers, but in my opinion the best source for information related to EVERYTHING cosplay. Sewing, airbrushing, warping foam into eldritch shapes, making your butt look bigger in your costume (so useful). Another *fantastic* source of cosplay books and guides which again is 100% worth every penny. An immense source of motivation to keep on going and always be learning.
A fellow Marco and an absolute joy to watch paint. I’ve learned so much about color theory re-thinking how I paint. Whether you use a brush, airbrush or spray cans Marco has got your back. A variety of techniques, miniatures and paints are the means to justify the ends to a badass miniature.
